Presentation/Mini-bio:
Founded in 1995, the Company was created by students and former students from the Daruê Malungo Education and Cultural Center. Today it's under the direction of Orun Santana and Vilma Carijós, the company keeps carrying the research in african dancing and explores the knowledge of the Center as their creative ground. The Company has already performed in places such as the Festival de Inverno de Garanhuns in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2005, besides taking part in fairs, congresses and seminars. Invited by the Grupo Experimental the Company took part in the performance Espetáculo Zambo (Grupo Experimental). In Recife the Company was also part of the Festival de Dança do Recife in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. In 2002, with the show Jogo da Dança, they had a successful run at Teatro Armazém 14. It was awarded 1st place in choreography of Afro Groups at the Festival Janeiro de Grandes Espetáculos. In 2004 it took part in the Dunya Dance Festival (Holland) and did a cultural interchange with Maracatu Colombia (Germany). In 2017 the Company debuted, at the Afro Week, the show Ona Omi - Water Path and, at the same time, they opened at Teatro do Arraial. Today the group is in the process of creation and research of a new show.
